I'm Thakirah - a writer, yoga teacher and a self-care entrepreneur.
I am fascinated by empowerment, self-growth, love, expression and aim to share knowledge and support around it.
I describe who I am as an amalgamation of all the things that interest me - woven together by my on-going fascination and love of mindfulness, balance, creativity, holistic living and innovative thinking.
I write about my personal-ass, juicy and intense journey around self-care and growth.
Self-care and self-love is the foundation to one's life and without that getting burnt out or running into some ish is not uncommon.
I want to help people create a more balanced life, by getting in touch with theirselves, their vulnerability, emotional space and by showing them that it's okay to love and care for yourself - and that this can trickle down into every area of your life.
So that you live with less panic, less burn-out, stress and anxiety!
This realization had come over me after years and years of awakenings as I (oops-I-did-it-again) dismantled the fragile state of the patriarchy.
I was following an inner-feeling: my own guidance and it was never my intention to dismantle anything - but as I spoke up against things that challenged and threatened my process of self-actualization - and in this case - it just happened to be a man's world, I unlocked the doors to my own freedom.
I didn't grow up learning about the patriarchy, but FELT the control of it early on and rebelled, used my voice, and poked humour at it.
I didn't grow up learning about ALL the inner-workings of women's health and wellness, but intuitively and (as a result of my mom's inclination towards natural living), I stayed away from things that didn't make sense to me - such as adding synthetic hormones to one's body aka contraceptives or shoving a cotton tube up your vibe - aka tampons.
The list goes on, but as you can see, I've questioned the realms of society's messaging around women's health and wellbeing since I popped onto Planet E.
It is only now - in my late twenties - that I am connecting to like-minded teachers, professors, guides, coaches, business-owners, creatives, freelancers and whoever and whatever - who speak a similar language to the one that had been inhabiting my head and heart for so long.
I'm also a life-long writer (circa sitting in my parents sitting-room and pen & papering everything and anything I could, reading in-between, watching TV, exploring, creating, expressing, exploring, expressing, exploring...)
This has followed me into my adult-life and as a result, I've been documenting my own experiences of struggles and how I've overcome them - (for example, healing myself naturally from life-long and persistent anxiety) - in order to understand a particular subject better, employ it as my teacher and spread empowering knowledge around it.
I've now fully embraced living on the intuitive side and I call this Intuitive Living (which is another term I've put together) - and it describes living in alignment with one's Self, body, soul-urges and natural talents - but always being rooted in balance and grounded in curiosity - hello 3D world.
*Hello debt to pay.*
*Thank you for the lessons ;)*
I describe all that I am passionate about and that sparks my soul on fire as a combined celebration of this.
I'm a massive fan of education and self-evolution. And I see education in every lil' thing!
My personal belief is that wellness & wellbeing is for everyone - and that it should not be limited to class and race - even though these were societal constructs that was created to incite separation rather than together-ness.
So! Wherever you are - be f*cking proud of your journey!
Lastly, my intention is to become a thought-leader and educator in the field holistic living, mental and emotional health and self-care!
I hope you can join me on this crazy-ass ride!
